 Food Safety Training Courses

From Level 2 food safety to Advanced Level 4 Food Safety, we have a food safety course to meet your requirements. We do adapt our courses to meet your specific needs.

All food handlers should have some form of food safety training to ensure that they know how to produce food that is safe to eat. Managers and supervisors will require more advanced courses to ensure they can implement and maintain effective food safety management systems, as well as understanding their role in managing food handlers .The Level 3 Food Safety course  is aimed at those who are supervising other staff in a food manufacturing, catering or food retailing environment.For managers, or those wishing to become managers, we offer the Level 4 Food Safety and Hygiene in Food Manufacturing or Catering.

 Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene

This 1-day course is the minimum requirement for all food handlers employed in the food industry. It focuses on the importance of food hygiene, associated food safety hazards, good hygiene practice and controls based upon awareness of food safety management systems.

Food handlers include:

  • Any person who handles food whether open or packaged
  • Any person who enters food premises – maintenance engineers, delivery personnel

Candidates can choose whether to take an exam focusing on Food Safety for Manufacturing, Catering or retail


Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene

Very useful for those responsible for supervising or training staff in basic food hygiene practices ,including owner managers.

Summarry of Course.

The broad content of this course ensures supervisors and skilled workers receive a good standard of food hygiene knowledge and training leading to one of the following widely recognised qualifications (RSPH Level 3 Award in Food Safety for Food Manufacturing or RSPH Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety & Hygiene – Catering/Retail).

This course has been carefully designed to enable potential managers to move towards the Level 4 qualification.  This course is suitable for manufacturers, caterers and retailers. Paper 2 of the exam allows you to select questions which are most applicable to your type of business.

 Level 4 Food Safety and Hygiene.

An advanced food safety course focussing on the management aspects of food safety systems.

Course Summary

A 5-day course leading to the RSPH Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety and Hygiene.
An intensive course designed to provide managers in the food and drink industry with detailed and up-to-date information on food safety theory and practice.

Entry Requirements

It is highly recommended that candidates complete the Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety & Hygiene (or equivalent), or can demonstrate considerable industry experience before embarking on this advanced level course
